Your student exchange in Ireland
Ireland encompasses most of the island of the same name, as well as a number of smaller islands. The capital and largest city of Ireland is Dublin, located in the eastern part of the island. Because Ireland is a member of the European Union, a visa is not required for your student exchange. Ireland has become a highly modern service-oriented society and is considered the second richest country in Europe. With its beautiful, green landscapes, it makes every heart beat faster. But its ancient culture, numerous castles, and very special traditions also make it perfect for your student exchange. Find out everything about your student exchange in Ireland and the schools offered here and in our free catalog.

The school system in Ireland
- The Irish school system enjoys a very good reputation internationally.
- Secondary school is divided into two main groups: the Junior Cycle and the Senior Cycle. The Junior Cycle ends with Year 9. This is followed by an exciting Year 10 (ages 15/16) in the so-called Transition Year.
- This Transition Year is particularly well-suited for spending your student exchange at an Irish school, as there is a wide range of subjects to choose from and many internships and excursions.
- Traditionally, the schools are very often “single sex schools”, meaning all girls or boys schools.
